Guangdong Emission Allowance
(GDEA)
Definition
The permits allocated under the Guangdong provincial carbon emissions trading scheme in China. These allowances represent the right to emit a certain amount of greenhouse gases and are part of a cap-and-trade system designed to limit and reduce emissions in the Guangdong province. Companies can buy, sell, or trade these allowances to meet their emissions reduction targets, creating economic incentives for reducing carbon output.
